Boise Police Share Halloween Safety Guidelines

**Halloween Safety Tips from Boise Police**

As Halloween approaches, the Boise Police Department (BPD) is reminding the community to prioritize safety while trick or treating.

Drivers are advised to be particularly vigilant, as many children will be out on the streets in costumes. BPD emphasized the importance of driving slowly and paying attention, as young trick or treaters may move unexpectedly.

Parents are encouraged to teach their children to make eye contact with drivers before crossing the street. Additionally, children should memorize their parents' cell phone numbers for reference in case they get lost or separated.

Young children should always be accompanied by a responsible adult, such as a parent, guardian, or older sibling. For teenagers who are trick or treating independently, BPD warns against approaching houses with the lights off and advises against entering any stranger’s home. It is recommended that teens stick to familiar streets.

Boise Police officers will be present along Harrison Blvd. to ensure a safe Halloween experience for everyone. The celebration will take place from 4 PM to 10 PM, with road closures implemented a few hours before and after the event to ensure public safety.
