Peekskill students win Second Place in history-art contest

Peekskill City Schools announced that Peekskill Middle School students Ashley G., Bremlin C., and Danna F. earned Second Place for their Gettysburg Address sculpture in a regional history and art contest hosted by the Lincoln Depot Museum.

The district said the students entered the competition on their own initiative, and that their work stood out among submissions from across the region. Museum officials recognized the students and expressed appreciation for Peekskill Middle School’s commitment to fostering student creativity.

Peekskill City Schools said the three students will be honored at an awards presentation on Saturday, June 20, at the Lincoln Depot Museum. As part of their awards, each student will receive a family museum membership, a membership pin, a gift certificate from SPINS Hudson, and an author-signed copy of “Lincoln Comes to Gettysburg.”
