Peekskill seeks residents for Resident Advisory Committee

The City of Peekskill is seeking residents to serve on the Resident Advisory Committee (RAC), a group of community members selected by lottery to help shape The Peekskill Plan.

The city said the RAC will provide feedback on draft concepts and recommendations, help shape the plan’s vision, goals, and strategies, and encourage neighbors to participate and share perspectives throughout the planning process. The committee is resident-led, and membership is fixed for the duration of the project to provide continuity and a consistent community lens.

Membership is voluntary and includes an effort to reflect a broad range of perspectives in Peekskill. The city is looking for 12 residents who may include homeowners and renters, lifetime residents and newer arrivals, and people with diverse geographic areas, ages, genders, racial backgrounds, and language backgrounds.

The city said RAC members will attend about 3 to 5 committee meetings with City staff and project consultants between June 2026 and August 2027. Members will also review plan materials, provide input on recommendations, and participate in community outreach and engagement efforts.

Residents can apply for the Resident Advisory Committee by visiting www.thepeekskillplan.com/get-involved.
