Basketball Tryouts for Peekskill Youth Teams!
Staff Report / Peekskillocal.org
Peekskill Parks and Recreation is seeking participants for the Tri-County Travel Basketball League, which is based in Westchester County. The program aims to form teams for boys and girls in 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. While boys and girls will have separate teams, tryouts for both will occur on the same day and at the same times.
The number of teams and their structure will depend on player interest, and cuts will be made during the selection process. Final team rosters will be communicated via email by November 1st. Once teams are established, practice and game schedules will be confirmed. Teams will participate in both home and away games, and parents are expected to provide transportation for their children to away games.
Interested players must reside in Peekskill and can register in multiple ways: online through Community Pass, in person at the Recreation office located at 1 Robin Dr, Peekskill, NY 10566, or by calling the Recreation office at 914-734-7275. Registration will also be available during the tryout dates, with only one tryout session required, although participants may attend both tryout sessions.
The first tryout will take place on Monday, October 14th, 2024. The schedule is as follows:
- 4th and 5th grades: 12 PM – 1 PM
- 6th to 8th grades: 1 PM – 2 PM
The location for the tryouts is Kiley Youth Center at 709 Main Street.
