Councilman Fernandez Urged to Resign After Testimony

The City of Peekskill's Common Council has reviewed the sworn testimony of Councilman Fernandez in relation to a recent court matter. Following this review, the majority of the Council believes it is in the best interest of the city for Councilman Fernandez to resign from his position.

Additionally, the Council has referred the matter to the Peekskill Board of Ethics. They will investigate a possible ethical violation by Fernandez, specifically concerning Code Section 48-3(L). This section prohibits any city official from using their position to gain privileges or exemptions for themselves or others.

The Common Council emphasizes their commitment to maintaining integrity while serving their constituents.
