PCVAC seeking volunteers for Emergency Medical Services in Peekskill.

by Katherine Murphy / Peekskilllocal.org

The Peekskill Community Volunteer Ambulance Corps (PCVAC) is actively seeking volunteers to join their team in providing Emergency Medical Services to Peekskill, NY, and surrounding communities. Established in 1964, PCVAC responds to over 3,000 calls annually and operates various vehicles including ambulances, command vehicles, and a special operations truck.

Volunteers do not need prior experience as all necessary training is provided. The organization offers flexible scheduling options and benefits such as a City Retirement Pension and State Tax Break. Additional benefits include free training, CPR certification, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits. Qualified members can also access free EMT courses and driving opportunities.

PCVAC boasts a state-of-the-art facility, vehicles, and equipment for volunteers to utilize. They also offer a Youth program for individuals aged 14-17. Those interested in becoming a volunteer can visit the PCVAC website at PCVAC.org to fill out an online application.
