The Books Bridge Bus, a program started by Polk County Public Schools in 2013 to promote early literacy, has debuted a vibrant new design created by students from Harrison School for the Arts. The bus made its first stop at Oasis Academy, showcasing the colorful art by Remi Briggs, Bertie Creekmore-Scott, and Lily Sell with the guidance of teacher Casey Hall. Southern Graphic Designs Inc. skillfully wrapped the buses with the new artistic designs.

In the 2022-23 school year, the Books Bridge Bus program distributed over 35,000 books to preschool students in Polk County. The buses visit local preschools, public spaces, and community events, providing each child with a new book to grow their in-home library.
